My name is Ayako. I am a qualified Japanese tutor, born in Tokyo but grew up in Osaka, Japan. I have been teaching Japanese for 16 years. I started at the local Adult Community college in 2006, then moved to the local grammar schools and taught GCSE and A-Level as well as adult students in the evenings at school and at my little home until February 2020.
In March 2020, I moved all my teaching online and now all my classes are for adult learners only. (I no longer teach under-18s)
I love teaching my beautiful language and sharing a fascinatingly unique culture with my students. For me, watching students improve, gain confidence, and achieve their goals is hugely rewarding.
I constantly look for ways to improve as new methods emerge and my pledge to you.
Why would you choose me over other big language school?
Unlike lots of other schools, I take my time to teach and I will not move on to the next new Topic until I am satisfied with students’ progress.
The lesson speed is a slower pace – You will be practicing a lot of Speaking and Listening as well as Reading to develop solid skills. This helps you to develop a higher level of skills for future learning.
Focus on practical usage of Japanese and be able to hold conversations with the natives and be able to survive in Japan! Sentence structure and focus on grammar points too.
You will be learning Japanese customs and cultures through the lessons so that you will gain a deeper understanding of the language, people, and country. This is one of the reasons why I believe I am different from other Japanese language schools. ( That’s what my students tell me! )
All my lessons are carried out in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My aim is to deliver interactive, fun, and engaging lessons through a variety of different activities. Please check the Group / Private lesson pages for more details.
